地埋式污水处理设备是一种模块化的污水生物处理设备，是一种以生物膜为净化主体的污水生物处理系统，充分发挥了厌氧生物滤池、接触氧化床等生物膜反应器具有的生物密度大、耐污能力强、动力消耗低、操作运行稳定、维护方便的特点，使得该系统具有很广的应用前景和推广价值。
设备的设计主要是对生活污水和之类似的工业有机污水处理，其主要处理手段是采用目前较为成熟的生化处理技术——生物接触氧化法，水质参数按一般生活污水水质设计计算，按BOD5平均200mg/1，出水BOD5按20mg/1设计。共有六部分组成：（1）初沉池（2）接触氧化池（3）二沉池（4）消毒池，消毒装置（5）污泥池（6）风机房，风机。
地埋式污水处理设备在出水达标的前提下，的优点有：
